Demo reviews // Pissed & Proud netzine (www.pissedandproud.cjb.net) by Stellan Elebro

This new finnish streetpunk outfit from the boys behind Chambermagazine say they are a pretty unserioous project. However both musical and lyrical i get an impression of a pretty serious band, the only thing i can say something about is a backing vox that feels too fuckin dark (actually it sounds more like a bulldog growling then a human being..haha). Musically their songs are catchy and filled with attitude in songs like "Born To Booze" and "Teenage Dirtbags" and the brilliant rock 'n roll in "Need For Speed" will end up on an mixtape this summer. Great fuckin song. This is just damn good punkrock reminding of swedish Scumbags (Now Inglorious Bastards). Hard, raw, honest and still no cliches and/or stupid kids trying to be Casualties.

Well if they put out another demo i would check that out aswell beacuse this demo is actually a very good outcome for something said to be "unserious", i have heard alot of swedish bands never to come up in this class even after 3-4 demos. There is hope for punkrock Finland after all...

Music: 3/5
Pekka & The Boys plays off streetpunk in ordinary fashion with a slight more aggro sound.

Lyrics: 3/5
Rock N Roll lifestyle, stupid teenagers and lost friends, Good stuff.

Overall: 3/5
For being "unserious" it sure is fuckin good..
